Our experience of habitat management since 1991 has led hunters from all over the southeast to Shenandoah to join together and share their passion for deer hunting. Our guides will assist you by finding the perfect stand for your hunt and help field dress and package your deer for travel.

Bullock County boasts more than 30 deer per square mile. Hunt at Shenandoah Plantation – where big bucks abound! We welcome both bow and rifle deer hunters and we have deer hunting stands from "Portable Lock-on Type" to "Fully Enclosed Shooting Houses". The property has been on a trophy-buck management program since 1991. Minimum buck size is 8 points with 15 inch inside spread. Our hunting is great from the opening day when we hunt around acorns in the hardwood bottoms to the end of the season when we hunt on green fields and corn fields. At Shenandoah you may encounter wild hogs on your hunt. You are welcome to take a hog in addition to the game you signed up for.

Spanning for 100 days, deer season in Alabama is a popular time for both bow and rifle hunters. Shenandoah Plantation welcomes parties of bow hunters and rifle hunters for some of the richest deer hunting in the area.

Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.

The 2017-2018 deer hunting season has again been extended  due to data collected by the WFF showing that the rut dates in some portions of the state extend beyond January 31st .Based on the sampling of many sites, areas designated as Zone B, which included Bullock County, were granted the extension through February 10th.  Bow season will open October 15th for antlered bucks only thru October 24th and either sex opening October 25th thru February 10th.  Gun season will open November 19th (with NO closed season December 1st-10th like the 2 previous years) thru February 10th. Hunters in Alabama will now be able to hunt an even larger portion of the breeding segment of rut.

Game Check is no longer voluntary, but has become mandatory this season for deer and turkey. All deer and turkey hunters are required to have a deer and turkey harvest record in their possession while hunting and are required to fill out the harvest record prior to moving the deer and turkey. Following completion of the harvest, all hunters must report their deer or turkey harvest through Game Check System within 48 hours of harvesting by either visiting  the website at  or using  the Outdoor Alabama app for smartphones. Download the app at or call in your harvest at 1-800-888-7690.

Site your rifle in at our rifle range! The range is set up with 4 benches from 100 to 400 yards. We also have a bow practice area with an elevated stand.
